Subdocument in Teble Cell

Mehrdad Reshadi

Hello,
Is it possible to have a subdocument in a table cell? I
have a table (lets say in file A.doc) and want to fill
some of its cells with the contents of other doc files
(eg. B.doc). I do not want to copy the contents of B to
A. The inserted files are shared among multiple
documents. Similar to Master Document/Subdocument, I want
to be able to update B.doc and see the effects in all
dependent files such as A.doc.
How can I do this? The insert supdocument does not work
in tables.

thank,
Mehrdad.

What you describe is not much like Master document/Subdocument at all. What
you're talking about is embedding; a different kettle of fish entirely.

Use Insert > Object: Create from file. Select the document and check the
'Link to file' checkbox. Word will attempt to insert the document (minus
headers and footers) at full size, so you need to be fairly clever with the
formatting of both documents for the result to be presentable.
