Subform not populating

Hi I have a form with a subform joined by Client ID's I keep getting the
following error message and the inside form is just a blank white space:
"The expression is typed incorrectly or it is too complex to be evaluated.
For example a numeric expression may contain too many complicated elements.
Try simplifying the expression by assigning parts of the expression to
variables."

Are the clientID fields in each table, the same data type?
Does the subform open on its own?

Yes the Client ID's are both number. Yes the subform opens on it's own with
records 1 - 7 I added previously.

When i delete the data from the Housing Table it appears to be ok (not white
space) but when I go to select the first drop down it says: "The value you
entered isn't valid for this field. For example you may have entered text in
a numeric field or a number which is larger then the field size setting
permits." Then once I enter information leave and come back to the record
it's blank and full of white space again.

"but when I go to select the first drop down it says" where is the combo box?
Is it in the main form or subform? What field is it bound to?

When you view the subform's record source, is the ClientID left or right
aligned?
