Dear Users,
Here is a quick overview:
I have used a form to enter data which has a couple sub forms as well. I
have used an auto number on the first form to link all the subforms together.
When I start entering data on the first form, the auto number self populates
on all the other sub forms. This is working well.
The problem arose when I copied the database and changed the variable names.
Now the auto number shows on the first form, but doesn’t populate itself on
the other forms. I have changed the variable name for this auto number as
well from the original database. All the child-master links look fine. The
come up with the new variable name. Actually all I did was put an “R2†in
front of all the variables in the second database.
I went to relationships and added the relationships with the auto number (I
did not do this in the original database). Then I was able to get the
subforms to populate the auto number but only after I typed into the first
field of each subform. In the first database it automatically populated on
all the subforms.
Does anyone know how I can get my second database to self-populate the
auto-number onto all the forms at once? Or do I have to re-create the forms?
Thanks so much!!!
