Subforms in Design View

I will have several subforms on a main form to show associated info related to a user's choice in a main form combo box. The subform properties include Flat, Transparent Borders, No Scroll bars so the subform itself isn't obvious. Is there any way in design view to change the subform view so I don't have all the extra clutter of the ruler, the subform scroll bars, etc. so I can more easily line up the subform controls to related controls on the main form?

I think this is a simple answer to a simple question... No. As far as I
know, this is not possible. You will have to get your alignment right
by trial and error, as well as using the Left and Width properties of
the controls on the subform.

The longer this sat out here, the more I suspected the answer was 'No'.
