Subject: 2007 MS Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF error

A friend has Office 2007 and needs the PDF Addin. (on Windows XP)

He has downloaded it from here and saved it to PC:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...11-3e7e-4ae6-b059-a2e79ed87041&displaylang=en

When he ran the exe to install it, he accepted the T's & C's and then got a
message telling him the installation had failed.

I tried downloading the Addin to a memory stick on my pc and copying to his
computer but the same thing happened. (I only have Office 2003 so can't try
it on my pc)

Any ideas on how he can get the add in installed.

Thanks - I will check with him tomorrow when I see him, although I'm pretty
sure I would have noticed it on the title bar.
If it's not a trial version could eg his AVG be blocking the install? or are
there other things I can look for?
Thanks

If he can download other programs and files then I doubt it is his virus
program. Norton can be troublesome in some Office programs.

How to use Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in

I understand some other virus software also have Office plug-ins.

He is using Office Enterprise 07.
It's a full version - I clicked on the Activate button in Word
Options>Resources and it said product already activated.
He is running AVG antivirus.

Are there any other options I could try?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately -he has the laptop but the company is no
longer.
It is the same download I tried.
I have now found a free pdf convert web site where he can upload his less
sensitive docs to be converted.

I'll also check he has the latest office and windows updates and try the
downlaod again.

When I asked him yesterday I think there may also be other probs with his pc
- eg IE never closes down without an error report, intermittent keyboard
failure.

Thanks for all your help though
