Subject Line vs Internet Headers

I am running into an issue where an email subject line displays correctly on
the actual email but when you look at the Internet headers it display
differently.
Example: RE: Your Support Ticket # 30774 has been resolved. ID [n3e7x8/214111]
When you look at the Internet Headers it displays as:
Example: RE: Your Support Ticket # 30774 has been resolved. ID [n3e7x8/2141
11]

It's causing the program that processes these emails to create new support
tickets because it thinks the subject looks like this:
Example: RE: Your Support Ticket # 30774 has been resolved. ID [n3e7x8/2141
11]

It's inserting a space character. Is there something that explains how the
headers are processed?

it looks like its breaking at 76- 80 characters. I'm not sure that can be
changed. There is a setting in outlook's tools, options, mail format,
internet format but I think it applies to message bodies only - its worth
trying.

It looks like it's the sender email server or virus scanner is doing it.

We found out that it's inserting hex 09 characters.

I am having the customer look into it.

Thanks for your reply.
