Submit Button On Form Not Working

B

Bristol

I have created a website using Publisher 2003 and uploaded it through the
"publish to web" feature. Webiste is: www.the-rippleeffect.com and under the
member application the submit button does not work. I have contacted my
hosting company who does support the frontpage extensions. Whether I install
these extensions or not, the form does not work. I have even tried using a
program supplied by my ISP and nothing. What am I doing wrong? I'm not very
saavy so please be gentle with your descriptions. I have tried reading the
website that you keep referring people to, but I don't ever seem to find the
answer. I am trying to have the form submitted through email format.

If you get a moment to help, I would appreciate as I need this form up and
running asap or I will have to take it off completely.

First of all for a Publisher form to work, you must have the FrontPage
Server Extensions (FPSE) installed, and yours are not. If you paste the
following in your browser, you will notice that you do not get the
confirmation page: http://www.the-rippleeffect.com/_vti_inf.html

Secondly, you must use HTML uploading protocol after having your host
install or reinstall FPSE.

Thirdly, are you using a Master page on your forms page? If so, get rid of
it...great for a print pub...produces problems for a web pub. And...be sure
to use the "compress pictures" tool to reduce the size of your images, and
they will load more quickly.

DavidF,

Thank you for your patience and your help in my problem. I followed all your
instructions and everything is working, including the resizing of the
pictures. I appreciated your thoughts in this matter.

Because of previous posts I had read by you, I removed the master page a few
weeks ago which helped greatly. I think the Master page is a bad habit
because it can cut your design time down. However, knowing that it messes
things up more in the long run, you are far better to take the time right off
the bat.

Again, Thank You for your help and your simple explanations.

That's good news. Thanks for posting back. It is nice to know if our advice
helps.
