Submit option for email

Emily

I have 2 buttons for 2 people with their names on it that I created to allow
a user to click to send an email to a user of choice to see the request to
print an item. The users needs to have an option to whom they want to send
an email request to. I have created a data connection to send an email
with no attachment only as an active form on each button for that specific
person. The problem is, i have 2 data connection listed with their names
and when i choose it, it went to both buttons instead of the one I wanted
isolated to. Please help on why its doing that or is it not possible?

I am not a programmer and do now know how to do any codes. I am using
infopath 2007

Hi Emily.

This should be easy to do without code.

One thing is that you might be using the default submit action on the
buttons. They should each be set to rules and code or otherwise they do the
same thing.

You need to create two data connections, one for the one email recipeint,
and one for the other. Another way is to have one email submit and then use
a field from your form as the to address. Then in your buttons you would set
this field to the email address you wanted, since only two probably easier to
make two email submits.
Then in each button create a rule which submits to the corresponding email
submit.

Thanks. This solved my problem. (I had the sequence there; didn't follow
through.) I love these Discussion Groups!
