Submitting forms data to an access dbase (submit option not availa

HI,

I've created a new company expense form based on a new access dbase on my
local harddrive. Now that I've completed the design of the form and want to
SUBMIT the data to the dbase, I've added a Button (submit) but the only
options I have in Properties for the button is to submit to e-mail,
webservice, sharepoint form library, custom submit using form code and custom
submit using rules.

According to the two InfoPath books I've read and the InfoPath Help,
shouldn't I see the Option of submitting to a database under these properties?

Since this option, submit to a database, isn't available, can I create a
Submit button using Custom Form code? If so, any assistance with code would
be appreciated (I'm an educated user, not a developer).

Once the form has been tested, the database will be moved from Access to SQL
with the Form being installed on our company's laptops and tablets.

Can anyone offer assistance or point me to another web page?

thank you

Hi,

I figured out this problem of not finding a "linked" database to submit
after creating the form from a dbase.

The dbase option in Submit will be seen AFTER you've TESTED your SQL
Statement.
The SQL Statement testing is done when Designing a new form from a dbase,
Edit SQL button, test SQL Statement.

Once I did TEST SQL Statement, I then had the option of Submitting to the
dbase associated with this form.

The "testing statement" was not mentioned in any InfoPath Help file.

If you read this reply you are great with the info u gave.

I did some work for a local charity as a volunteer (no pay) and I had a
superb InfoPath form working to an Access database.

Some twit who acts as a Super Control Freak REMOTE administrator hell bent
on destroying anything I do for the Financial Manager stopped the User and
laterly even the Financial Controller from using the form.It gives and
Administrative eroor.

Now I shall re -create the form and let's see what Mr Smarty pants Control
Freak REMOTE Administrator does. Thi stwit is a LINUX fan and forgets that
Microsoft isn't going to go away.

He is obviously deluded with his powers and should go boil his head. Unlike
him all I have done is enable an InfoPath form within the Intranet to submit
Data from a Cafe to the Access Database in the care of the Finance Manager.
The charity helps the elderly, and their carers.

Thank you again

Jay
