Submitting InfoPath form - Username format?

Bob Zmuda

I have an InfoPath form that submits to a SharePoint task list. Everything is
working great except for submitting data to the built-in "Assigned To"
column (or any column containing a username, actually).
The problem, I believe, is that I'm not submitting the user information in
the correct form. I've tried "DOMAIN\username," "(e-mail address removed)," and
"username" without success. In what form should the user information be
submitted to the SharePoint task list? Thank you.

Have you already tried asking this question in the SharePoint newsgroup? That
is, what is the correct format for the AssignedTo field when adding/updating
list items to/in a SharePoint Task list using CAML? The problem you have lies
with SharePoint and not with InfoPath; InfoPath is just a means to an end.

I posted there but have to receive a response...

Okay. Let me know if you don't get a response, then I'll dig a bit deeper for
you.

I still haven't received any responses from the SharePoint group. I would
greatly appreciate it if you can provide me with a response. Thank you.

Okay. I do not have much time this week or the week thereafter, so please do
not expect a prompt reply, but I'll see if I can figure out if there is a way
to fill in that AssignedTo field for you.

Don't worry about looking up that information. I fiddled around some more
with InfoPath and SharePoint and discovered that usernames must be passed in
the exact format "DOMAIN\username". I originally entered the usernames as
"DOMAIN\Username", which doesn't work. It appears that correct capitalization
is critical. Thanks for your offer of help anyway!
