Subreport - Multiple parameter entries

I have a report with subreport wherein both items require the same parameter
specification. The query for the report contains this parameter prompt, the
query for the subreport does not. When opened, the data for the full report
displays correctly, but it asks for the parameter value twice. How can I set
this up so it asks only once and applies the value to both?

IMO, parameter prompts are never a good idea

user interaction.
