subreport refresh?

Hello,

I have a form that opens a report based on a filter
(which comes from a keyword they enter), however, I have
a subreport in the main reports header that also needds
to be filtered, but when i filter both reports, only the
main report gets filtered and the other report (which is
a subreport) is not when it acts as a subreport when i
open up the main report. Any ideas?
