Subreports using Pass Through queries in Access 97

I need to produce a summary report which incorporates a
number of other reports. I have created a new report and
plan on adding subreports as required. All my subreports
are based upon queries which are in turn from pass through
queries.

When I try to preview my main report I get an error
message saying 'You can't use a pass-through query or a
non-fixed-column crosstab query as a record source for a
subform or subreport. Before you bind the subform or
subreport to a crosstab query, set the query's
ColumnHeadings property.' I can't find any option like
this in the properties of the queries.

I'm using MS Access 97. Does anyone know of a way round
this?
