Subrport on subreport splits rows on pages

I have a main report with a number of subreports. One of the subreports
itself has a subreport (i'll call it the subsubreport). It all works well
except that when the subsubreport splits over a page it does so badly..
sometimes even splitting a single row in two, with half of it showing on each
page. i've tried setting Grp Keep Together for all the sub and subsub
reports and i've tried setting the Grouping Keep Together on the primary
field of the subsubreport... no use. Any ideas?

have you considered removing the subsub from the primary sub and subing it
just under the primary sub in the main report?
