Subscribing To A NG Subject

Hi

I don't know if this is a proper Word NG subject ... but:

In Entourage, I want to subscribe to a subject or subjects. As I understand
it, that will give me a constantly updated file of replies to subjects
making it easier to follow the string of answers. I went to "Subscribe to a
shared project" in Entourage and it took me to my address book which asked
me for my email address. Does this expose me to spam since I use an
anti-spam address for the newsgroups. Also, is my understanding of
"subscriptions" correct and am I approaching this correctly?

Thanks, Rafael

Hi Rafael,

this post would have been more appropriate for the Entourage newsgroup, but
don't worry, it's not the end of the world. The "Subscribe to a shared
project" button has nothing to do with newsgroups, it is part of Entourage's
new Project Center feature and it allows you to subscribe to other people's
projects on a remote server.

What you are looking for, I guess, are custom arrangements, which allow you
to group all your newsgroup messages according to different criteria, such
as conversations, dates and so on. First of all, when you've selected a
newsgroup, make sure that View>Arrange By>Show in Groups is activated; you
should see blue bars in your message list, and normally, they should contain
dates and relative dates, say "Yesterday" or "Last Week", for instance. You
can change that in the same menu, View>Arrange By, by clicking on
Conversation, for instance, to have all the posts relating to the same
problem are regrouped.

I'm using a custom arrangement (View>Arrange By>Edit Custom Arrangements)
that someone (Barry Wainwright?) posted in the Entourage newsgroup some time
ago, which looks as follows:

Group items by Subject
Sort groups by Sent, Newest on top
Sort items within groups by Sent, Newest on top
Default display for groups Expanded

If anything's unclear, post back.

What a co-inky-dink!

I went to the trouble of hashing out the exact same Custom Arrangement
myself & was afraid I had left something out. Only difference is that I
prefer to have my Default Display set to Collapsed.
