Subscripts in a bookmark??

I am using bookmarks to copy text to another section. Problem is, some
of the text in the bookmark is subscripted, and when referenced
elsewhere via the bookmark that formatting is lost. Even if I fix it,
every time I open the document the fields are updated and the
formatting is lost again.

Ideas?

And to add to the confusion, I just played some more and discovered
that sometimes the subcripting format is removed, and sometimes it's
not. Cannot tell a difference in the formatting to explain the
inconsistency.

Sorry...not a bookmark. I am copying the text of a number paragragh
into a summary list.
