subsite

The problem is that FP2003 stoped alowing me to creat subsites. If I click
file, new, web site templates, empty web and click 'add to current web' under
options, it just gives me a dialoge box asking if I want to overwrite the
index page. in other words it does not creat a subweb folder and just tries
to throw pages into the current web. Same thing happens if i right click and
select subsite from the "new" choice.

if i create a folder and convirt it to a subweb then it will make the subweb
but I cannot publish it (for example i do not get a blue arrow next to it
when I click on the subweb icon). Same thing happens when i create the subweb
on the server version of the web.

Like I said, it was working then stopped- is this a problem on the server
side?

HELP!!

thanks!

If this is happening when publishing to the live/remote or attempting to create the subweb on the
live/remote server, you need to contact your web host, as they can disable this function.

You do not want to add a subweb to the current web. You should create a
new web, and locate it as a folder in the current web. Easiest way is (as
you state below) make a folder and convert it to a subweb.
under

index page. in other words it does not creat a subweb folder and just
tries
to throw pages into the current web. Same thing happens if i right click

subweb
but I cannot publish it (for example i do not get a blue arrow next to it
when I click on the subweb icon).

You will never get an icon pointing to the subweb. To publish a subweb
double click on it to open it, then use File->Publish and make sure the
publish destination is correct, and not going to overwrite the main web.
Alternatively, change Publish Properties to include subwebs when publishing
the main web.
