Subtask delegation

I have a admin assistant that uses the task feature in Outlook 2007
extensively. She has many subtasks. She would like to delegate access to
her boss to see all tasks including subtasks. We tried delegation, sharing
the tasks, and granting the boss full mailbox rights but the boss was still
unable to view subtasks. As a work around I added the admin assistant's
mailbox to the boss Outlook 2007 and he can see them that way. My question
is - Can you delegate access to tasks so that another user can review
someone's subtasks?

Subtasks? As in a folder under the Tasks folder? The only way to view
subfolders is by opening the mailbox in the profile.

Yes. The user has created subtasks below her tasks. Delegating access to
the tasks doesn't seem to allow someone to view the subtasks. I've done some
research and it doesn't look like this is something that can be accomplished
through delegation. I'll have to grant Mailbox rights.

Correct. Delegation only applies the the default folders. The user needs to
be given permission to the subfolders. The user (or you) can do it from
Outlook.

Could you clarify your last statement "The user (or you) can do it from
Outlook.". How would I or the user grant someone permissions to view
subtasks from within Outlook? Where would I go within Outlook 2007 to grant
those type of permissions? I thought the only way for me to accomplish this
was to grant the user full mailbox rights and then add the Boss' mailbox to
her OUtlook 2007 profile.
