subtask "Task Name" not visible

I'm running project 2003 with sp2.

When I create a subtask, I enter the task name then indent. But once it is
indents the text in the "task name" column is no visible. Outdent the subtask
and it is visible again.

I've checked all filters, reinstalled etc.... still no luck.

Check format, text styles. Maybe one of the styles has white text?

have already checked. I even reset all styles to one default (with black
text). I have also discovered that if a subtask has a child the +/- expansion
icon is also not visibile.

As I recall there was an issue like this with Project 2003 but that was
addressed with update SP2 and you indicate you already have that, but
you might want to double check (Help/About).

If indeed you have the SP2 update installed, here is something that
might work. Go to our MVP website at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm, and take a look at FAQ 43 -
Handling project file corruption and/or bloat. Try method 4.

Thanks for the suggestion but that failed to work as well. I'm testing some
alternative software now and unless this can be resolved I'll leave project
behind. Even Microsoft seems unable to assist.

Just for reference, we are NOT Microsoft. This newsgroup is manned by
volunteers and we are wholly independent of Microsoft.

Let me ask another question. Are you sure you have the Name field column
width set wide enough to display the full indenture? If it isn't and you
add a new level of indenture, the name text will seem to "disappear".

Yes the fields are wide enough, text formatting is fine.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled SP2 and project, check other updates. Open
Project and presto the problem is still there.

Does this occur with just one file or do you see this problem with all
files?
