What are you expecting to see and what are you actually seeing? Do you
have recalculation set on, to automatic? Note that the duration of the
summary task is NOT supposed to be the sum of the durations of subtasks
(which is what some people initially think). The duration of the summary
is from when the earliest starting subtask begins until the
last-to-finish subtask ends. The only time it's the sum is if all the
subtasks occur sequentially. If I have 5 subtasks each with a duration
of 5 days and they all start together, the summary task duration is also
5 days. OTOH, if they occur in A->B->C->D->E sequence, the summary
duration is 25 days.

I have Summary Tasks and subtasks. My subtasks are not rolling up
duration and dates to the summary. If I email my project plan to someone
else, it looks fine to them. All dates are rolled up appropriately. I
have looked for filters etc that perhaps I have on/off incorrectly.
