Subweb URLs and hit counter association

I have a site with a several subwebs defined. Its running in an apache
VPS (host is westhost.com). I originally published the subwebs via the
directory path under the root web. That is, I published mysubweb1 to
http://www.myweb.com/mysubweb1. When people vist this subweb using this
same URL, the hit counter operates correctly. This web can also be
accessed as http://mysubweb1.myweb.com. When the subweb is accessed with
this URL, the counter shows it's initial value of 1 and never changes. I
suspect I can't get this counter to work for both paths to the web site,
however, I would prefer it to work with the subweb1.myweb.com url. Would
re-publishing the web to subweb1.myweb.com instead of
www.myweb.com/subweb1 reverse this counter behavior? Would this cause
any other side effects? I started down this path and I was prompted by
frontpage saying there was no web at mysubweb1.myweb.com and asked if I
wanted to create one. I suspect it would just basicially write the same
web into the same location with the minor internal differences that
would associated the counter with mysubweb1.myweb.com instead of
www.myweb.com/mysubweb1. Comments?

You need to talk to your host as the extensions are only applied to the root web and subwebs, not
the subdomain.
