Suddenly can only send plain text format

Suddenly, I can only send email in plain text format and it goes through with
a .txt attachment of the same text. I have tried selecting both HTML and
Rich Text Formats but it still sends message as plain text. I have tried
turning off Avast Antivirus and Zone Alarm Firewall and same result. I have
also run Windows Update and Office Update. Using Windows XP Home v.2002
Service Pak2
