suddenly can't run word 2000

I was transferring some stories I'd saved from one folder to another (opening
each story to make sure the transfer worked) when suddenly I couldn't open
one of them. I'd get an error message that said 'resorces are very low, would
I like to terminate this so-and-so'. I'd say yes, then it would ask me if I
wanted to terminate the next program. It would go on and on and I'd have to
reboot. I ran Dr Watson and it said:

Windows KB891711 component has altered Windows system files.

Module Name: KB891711.EXE
Description: Windows KB891711 component
Version: 4.10.2222
Product: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Operating System
Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

I can't open any of my stories, and I can't even open Word.

I have windows ME.

I have an update to my own post. Someone told me this was a security issue,
and that I should download the latest patches and such. I've d/led everything
I could, but I took a look at my history of d/ling and saw that an automatic
update had been done and KB891711 was installed. I tried doing system restore
to before that point, but nothing's taking. I had tried last night to delete
this file (it wouldn't let me). Any ideas on what to do now?

another update.<g>

i have finally solved the problem. i'd gotten rid of KB891711, but i still
couldn't open word. after trying 'many' different things, i ended up going to
microsoft's webpage and troubleshooting word 2000. i found an example of what
i'd been going through and they gave solutions to try. i tried the first one
(renaming the global template 'normal.dot' to something else). it said to try
opening word after that. it worked!!! :D

even though no one's answered my posts (besides me<g>), i thought it would
be a good idea to pass on my successful solution.
