Please Help. I'm in the middle of editing my wife's 150 page Master's
thesis, and Word 2007 has decided that I'm not going to finish it!
OS: Vista SP1
Program: Word 2007 (within Office Prof Plus 2007 Win32)
As of yesterday, I suddenly cannot select any text or move the cursor within
Word 2007 by positioning and left-clicking the mouse. Also, within Word 2007,
I cannot move the right-side page-position-bar with mouse left-click (though
it does focus on it when I hover [changes color appropriately]).
The left-click works perfectly for the page-up and page-down buttons [below
the position-bar], all the tabs at the top of the screen, the
save/undo/repeat/print buttons, and all of the features within any tab.
Also, if I go into Word Options, I cannot select any of the left-hand column
tabs [display/proofing/save/advanced/etc., etc.] but I can select anything on
the right-hand side of the window. (Started to initiate a support request,
but can't even get to the Product ID)
I can select text within Publisher 2007, text within fields of Excell 2007,
text within IE, wordpad, and any other program that I have tried.
So far, have tried:
Mouse Driver? First mouse running as Logitech Ifeel Mousman (w/Logitech
driver)
Tried 2nd mouse (running as HID-complient mouse - MS driver) - no joy
Peculiar to thesis file? Created new blank Word file, typed random things -
no joy.
MS Office 2007 install-disk "repair" option - no joy.
Unistalled entire office suite.
Reinstalled entire office suite -- still same problem.
Made NO changes to computer / no installs yesterday.
Vista Windows Autoupdate did install something, computer rebooted overnight
whereupon problems began.
Suggestions welcomed!!!
Thanks!
