suddenly, iCal and Entourage are not syncing

A few new calendar events in Entourage never made it to my iCal
calendar. What I did was follow the device from the MVPs at
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/syncservices.html#ss2 and
that did copy over what was in Entourage to iCal, but I have no 2-way
sync anymore between the two. Yes, I've restarted, cleared the Sync
History, unchecked and rechecked Sync Calendar Items in the Entourage
prefs, etc. Until the past week (and nothing has changed with my
system in the interim), syncs happened between the two applications
pretty quickly through SyncServices.

Any suggestions? This is consuming way too much time, and I'm very
close to just forgoing Entourage and only maintaining iCal, which
would become my primary calendar. I really don't want to do this,
since I like Entourage. But this is a major problem now. Please help!

I have to say I've found sync services to be unreliable. Last week, it
wiped both my Entourage and iCal calendars clean! Fortunately I had a
24-hour old backup of my Microsoft User Data, and was able to switch
identities, export calendar data, switch back, and import to my live
calendar. But I'm hesitant to enable syncing again to repopulate my
iCal calendar.

Just my 2 cents. Sorry I can't offer more hope.

It wiped my entourage calendar clean as well so I also restored from a
backup. But it wasn't reliably syncing all of a sudden before that
event, which was what prompted the original troubleshooting that ended
up hosing my calendar (even with syncservices off in the prefs,
deleting the Entourage calendar in iCal wiped out my Entourage data.
Never saw that happen before). So far, no new events are syncing in
either direction. Maybe time to go to iCal/Mail/Address Book for good?
