Suddenly Outlook 2007 starts up very slowly

Hello, over the night and without changes in any of the datafile, the
application takes now about 4-6 long minutes to become ready from start up!.
Deletion and reinstallation did not help, as well as removal of the Add-ins.
Setting .dat extension of the file outcmd.dat to .bak did not help make it
faster either. Is the problem coming externally from office 2007 or other
inteacting SW components? Can any one help?

Thanks

What anti-virus software are you using? Can you start Outlook in Safe Mode?
(Hold down CTRL Key when you start the app) and see if it starts quickly
that way?

suiteI use Norton Internet Security 2009, however I disables it during my
retrial. I also tried starting up with ctrl pressed for safe mode start in a
seperate attempt. Both cases did not help. The startup of the program is as
low as it was before. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I executed the scanpst program and it reported to have repaired the
outlook.pst file. However, the startup still takes as long as before running
the scanpst program! I also started Outlook under Administratior, which I
seldom use, and got the same problem. The seldom used outlook.pst file under
Administrator has only a few messages and is only about 512K. I believe
therefore that the problem is not emerging at the PST file. Also please
remember that I reinstalled Outlook and still have the problem. Thanks and
Regards
