suggestion for a good ocr conversion software

Dear Sir,

I request you to kindly suggest a good ocr conversion
software compatible to hp(all in one) 6110 model scanner,
which can convert the scanned document into msoffice 2000
specifcally in excel, and word etc with all features like
multiple formatted tables, complex format of excel related
documents.

hope I may receive an immediate action in this regard.

Hi Rajeshwar,

The first version of MS Office to have any OCR
capability is Office XP (Word 2002). There is
generally an OCR package that ships with many
scanners. You may want to have a look at the

To perform the tasks you need, I think the best OCR software would be Abbyy
FineReader. It works with any scanner, parallel or USB.

Most OCR programs will only recognise the text or numbers of a table -
FineReader will recognise and format the document accurately as a table or
other layout. When installed, it provides a toolbar button for Word etc
(although most OCR programs do that - in fact, with some OCR programs, the
button is the best feature! :-(

FineReader can accurately recognise a multitude of languages. The Home
version is about $US130; the Professional about $US299. You can download a
trial version.
