Suggestion for Keyboard Shortcuts

I cannot have a keyboard shortcut to add a particular symbol, like the
stylyzed "S" for the section marker (legal symbol). I also cannot figure out
how to assign a keyboard shortcut to a task like highlighing text. It's not
assignable, and it's not in a right-click menu.

It's not exaclty a keyboard shortcut but OneNote includes the same
AutoCorrect feature that other Office programs have - using this you can type
one symbol and have it replaced with another. Go to Tools | Autocorrect
Options and then choose a series of symbols for the legal section symbol. I
have "ss" in my list. You may need to copy/paste the actual symbol using the
Character Map application.

Can you clarify what else you're looking to do via a keyboard shortcut?

Type A7 then hit Alt+X and you will get the section symbol

If other characters are immediately before the A7 then OneNote will
attempt to create a character which matches the three or four
character Unicode code point. If you have a space before the A7 you
should get §.
