Suggestion: Project on OS X

It would be nice to run Project on OS X. As I'm using both Vista and OS X,
being able to take my database to either machine would be great.

Michael,
You have a couple of choices.

Personally, I use a Parallels emulator (3.0) on my iMac (OS 10.5.2) with
a separate virtual Windows XP machine for each version of Project
(Project 98 through Project 2007).

There is also VMware Fusion from wmware.com but I've never tried it.

As far as Microsoft releasing a directly installable version of Project
for Mac, you're outta luck. It's a PC world.

Thanks John. I'm using Fusion now running WinXP and Project 2007. I haven't
had a chance to really try it out yet other than just opening it up. It
starts and runs, slower, but I expected that. Now I'll have to get my
databases loaded and see how usable it really is. Mostly I just need it on
the Mac for job meetings, to update tasks and review the schedule, so it
should be fine as my projects run with about 60-100 tasks and I only need to
open one at a time.

It would be even nicer if Office Live supported Project, but that's another
story.

Michael,
You're welcome and thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you've got
something that works for you. Since I haven't tried VMware Fusion, I
can't comment on its speed versus Parallels. However I am very happy
with the performance of Parallels, especially compared to my previous
emulator which was Virtual PC.
