Suggestion to terminate spam e-mails!

Hi,

I wonder why there still are so many services that offers free e-mail
accounts?
If Yahoo, Microsoft and other large players on the field would starting
taking fees upon creating e-mail accounts I'm sure the amount of spam e-mails
would be much more less then today.

Another option would be to simply terminate all free e-mail accounts, this
would also decrease the amount of spam e-mails.

I have 2 hotmail accounts myself. This would probably not be the case if
there was a fee to be paid.

Yes, reducing the total number of email addresses in the universe will lower
the total amount of spam, but how does that help anyone? Paid-for addresses
will still get the same number of spams as before. In fact, spammers would
love it if all addresses were paid for. Then they know their spam is going
to a "real" address, not just a throw-away one.

There are ways to reduce the spam.

1. Usernames like (e-mail address removed) would reduce
the possibility that a computer program would generate same.
2. Don't ever post e-mail addresses on any forum or
newsgroup. The spammers programs scan regularly harvesting
addresses.
3. If you are creating web sites, always use form on a
"contact us" page. Include an image with five or six
characters that must be entered and verified to lessen
computer programs from filling in the form.
