Suggestions for MS regarding searching for office templates

The other day I searched and found the perfect template for a budget in
Excel. Using the same search on another day yielded different results. It
wasn't until I scrolled to the very bottom that I realized that my results
were being truncated to the top 100. This top 100 keeps changing. In fact
today's result set included a template for a Santa holiday card in Word.
Here are a few suggestions to improve searching for templates.
1. Allow a user to use google/msn type search parameters in the search
window. If they are supposed to work...well, I tried some and they don't
work.
2. Allow a user to impose their own limits on the number of search results
returned. If anything, the MS office team can make this a benefit of
registering/logging into the site. Also if #1 was in place, the results
would be more accurate thereby reducing the number of erroneous hits.
3. Allow a user to choose the apps for which they want the template. Again
this could be a feature of logging into the site.

Just go to the template gallery directly instead of using the task
pane in Office and you'll find the flexibility you are after with no
need to log in:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/default.aspx

You can also get to Office Online in any application from the Help
menu.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

Hi Beth!
Thank you for your speedy reply! I should have been more clear. I had
initiated my search from the office.microsoft.com templates section you
identified below, not from an Office application.

Best Regards,
Leana
