Suggestions for new TabletPC?

Hello group...

Been thinking about getting a tablet pc, but I've heard everything from
"Don't. Longhorn won't support them..." to "It's the best thing since,
well, ever...". At any rate, I've poked around at some review sites online
and am left even more befuddled than I was at the beginning.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good tablet pc? Personal experience
perhaps?

TIA!

This isn't a Tablet PC-specific newsgroup, so you may want to check out
microsoft.public.windows.tabletpc, but I would suggest you take a look at
Tablet PC MVP Terri Stratton's comparison charts on her web site:
http://thetabletpc.net She's got comparisons for almost everything on the
market to give you something to hang your hat on.

Tablets are "personal" since you hold then, turn them around, use them all
over the place - they're more like a good paperback book then a hard-bound,
heavy book. Some folks would not be without a Slate version, while others
prefer a Convertible because they want a keyboard.
