Do you mean this is the result in any case, whatever you have been
selecting? Usually, the cells "proposed" to be summed are the contiguous
cells up to the next blank cell or the next sum, or if the first cell up is
blank the contiguous cells left to the next blank cell or the next sum. Or,
if the first cell above contains a sum formula, it'll add the different sums
found above.
This would let me think you clicked the button after having selected cell
C74 and that cell C73 contains a number (or formula), cell C72 being empty
OR that cell C73 contains a "=sum(...)" formula and you selected any cell
lower than C73, provided the cells between C73 and the selection contain no
number or result (they can contain text or be blank).
So, what did you think you should have been suggested to sum ?
