Sum in Spreadsheet2 of values in Spreadsheet1

Hello,

what formula / syntax is necessary in on OWC Spreadsheet2
to sum up values in Spreadsheet1 ?
(both spreadsheets are on the same FrontPage website)

The advice from the OWC help files:
=HOST().Spreadsheet1.Range("A1:A2").Value

doesn't seem to work with me.

The HOST function was pulled from recent versions of the
OfficeXP Spreadsheet Component, due to security
concerns. Unfortunately the help files were not updated
to remove examples that had it in it.

This is no longer possible without writing script to pull
values from one spreadsheet and put them into another.
