=SUM returns incorrect answer

the sum of a column of numbers (in the format [h]:mm) is greater than the combined sums of =SUMIF calculations where all the cells are accounted for. There are no rows hidden that could be contributing to the incorrect sum. There are no qualifiers missing from the SUMIF calculations, and no wildcards in the qualifiers. This is a process I have been carrying out on sets of forms weekly for many months with no problems. Is it coincidence that this problem has arisen just since installing Excel 2008? There are several other formatting problems associated with 2008 so far, but performing incorrect calculations is much more worrying.

I'm not aware of any errors in Excel 2008 calculations. If you are summing
time are you multiplying the result by 24? Can you please be more specific
as to what you think the error is? What are the numbers you are adding, what
is the result you think you should get?
