SUM

Hi! I'm trying to calculate the SUM of a column
according to the cell next to it (i.e. a check book
register and calculating how much was paid in total to
each entity). I'm trying to use SUMIF but it's not quite
working. Any suggestions?

Hi Summra,

Say you want to sum values in column B that correspond to
entries in column A. Here are a couple of examples:

=SUMIF(A1:A10,"A",B1:B10)

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A10="A")*B1:B10)

Both formulas do the same thing. They sum those values in
column B that correspond to entries of "A" in column A.
For your example, just substitute the "A" with "entity".
