Summarize and Paraphrase

I need help with summarizing and paraphrasing documents.
My inclination is just to read the original. My school gives me to
much in summarize, paraphrase, and quotation. Worked one week on thi
assignment and totally confused. Talked with my mother and sh
understood when I said 'just go to the original.' I need help, please.
Assignment due tonight
