Summary report

I need to print a summary of multiple projects but the
requirement is that they look like timelines with the
milestones marked along with the progress. They want all
the information rolled up to one single line. Is there a
way to do that from Project? I see that you can use Visio
but I don't want to have to format it everytime, would
prefer to get that from Project. Thanks in advance.

First, you can use a consolidated project to display all of the projects and
then collapse them so that only the Project summary line shows. (Open all of
the projects and then select Window -> New Window, highlighting all of the
projects forreporting.)

If you know the milestones that should be included on each project in the
summary line, then you can check the Task Information field "Roll up Gantt
bar to Summary" for those milestones (e.g., change this for each end of
phase milestone.). This will display the milestones on the summary. You can
then change the bar text to display the task name or or a custom field label
to identify the phase. Using the Bar Styles for the Project Summary row you
are able to change the bar format and color so that the progress and plan
both appear and do not hide the rolled up milestones.
