Summary Task display incorrect on custom text field

We have a custom task text field similar to the "Status" field - but with a
slightly different formula for determining the task status (i.e. Late,
Future, On Schedule, etc.).

This works fine at the task level - but the summary tasks are not
calculating correctly. For instance, all tasks under a summary level are
completed, but the summary is showing Future. The %Complete column on the
Summary line itself shows 100%. Why is this not showing a status of Complete?
Is there an issue with calculated custom text fields on summary tasks?

Open the Enterprise Global file and then click Tools - Customize -
Enterprise Fields. Select his particular text field and check the
"Calculation for task and group summary rows" option. Have you set this
option, and if so, how? Let us know.
