Summary task hours

Steve V.

Suddenly all the summary tasks have extra hours in them
For example, a summary task has 144 hours WORK and 106 hours ACTUAL. The three tasks under this one hav
Task 1 8 hours WORK, 8 hours ACTUA
Task 2 9 hours WORK, 0.5 hours ACTUA
Task 3 46.5 hours WORK, and 46.5 hours ACTUAL

If you have any suggestions, please hurry... the summary task hours seem to be growing as I futz with it

Thank you, messr.Messemaeker.
I envy your knowledge.
I discovered the resources on the summary tasks just before your message.

Now all that remains is a troublesome recurring task.
1 hour every Friday for 15 weeks, one resource.
The recurring task received a WORK summary calculation of 576 hours, and REMAINING of 576 hours, with a percent complete of zero. Any suggestions?

If there are 0 hours of Actual Work entered against it then you could simply
display all of the detail tasks and set the Work to an appropriate amount
for each detail task.

If Actual Work has been entered then you should probably set Work so that it
matches Actual Work.

This should set Remaining Work to the correct value.

Hi Steve,

Cut the resource(s) from the recurring task
Now show the detail tasks
Select the lot (but not the recurring task itself)
Open the resource assignment window
assign the bncessatry resources to the detail tasks.
