Summary Task Slack Discrepancy

Hi

Can anyone tell me why my slack time for my summary task
is showing as 1 day when the slack time for the two tasks
that make up the summary task both have a slack time of 0
days?

I thought that it would naturally sum up the slack time
from the two "child" tasks?

Can anyone help - this is really frustrating me

Hi there

Do your child tasks start and end on the same day and are there any links between them

task Slack start date Finish date
Sum task 1 May 10 May 1
Child 1 0 May 10 May 14
Child 2 0 May 11 May 14 (if one of the child tasks start a day later or earlier from the other there will be a day slack in the summary task)

That is exactely whats happening, it's good to know that it's supposed to do
that, what I can't figure out is why. The second task is dependent on the
first and neither of them have any slack so why does the summary task show
it as having a days slack?

If you could shine a little light on it for me it would help greatly
