Summary Tasks in Update Views

Is there a way to show summary level tasks in the "View task changes submitted by resources" view of the Update module. Our project plans contain many tasks that are repeated for multiple summary level tasks. The Project Managers would like to be able to see where the tasks to be updated lie in the overall schedule before they perform the update.
Also, is there any way to add additional fields to this Update View.
