Summer bars

Hi All,

I have been given a schedule (2007) that was built for a particular project.
My task was to make a few small changes and then re-issue it. One task was to
insert a summary task at task 1 on the gant chart. The project start is 27
mar 09. That was easy. The hard part comes in determining why when all the
sub tasks have been indented, the summary task starts on 12 April 09??? This
has me perplexed.

My hunch is that the amongst the tasks under the Summary task 1, that
the earliest "start" date in the group is in fact 12 April. The summary
task will show what's under it, not the Project Start. Project start is
just when the project starts. It is not necessarily when the tasks
start unless you tell it so.
