Bill
I have created a detailed budget for an individual
instance of a project (60 months, call it DetailSheet).
My goal is to show a summed-up cash flow statement
(SumSheet) based on starting the project at different
times in different markets. For example, a separate
project starts in different markets in Month 2 (Market A),
Month 4 (Market B), Month 6 (C), and Month 10 (D).
SumSheet would therefore add up the data in each row for
any individual project underway in a particular month. To
wit, SumSheet's Month 5 would sum Month 4 of Market A's
data plus Month 2 of Market B's. The kicker: I need to be
able to move the start dates around at will, in order to
understand the financial impact of changing start months.
I tried putting a 'new projects' row in SumSheet (value =
number of new projects started in that month), and
referring to the number each month therein to calculate
which DetailSheet month to add for each project, but the
formula gets overwhelming pretty quick.
Have you seen this problem before, or know the concept and
have a method to handle? Thanks in advance...
