summing more values, catchier

Dear Nathan

From reading your three threads, it would seem that you
need to use a pivot table to summarise your stock. I would
use the wizard and highlight the Columns containing the
data you want to summarise, then hide the "Blank" entries
when you create the pivot table. If you are not confident
in the use of pivot tables, please post back, and I am
sure that somebody here will be more than willing to help
you. Paraphrasing an old adage --- If you pay with
banannas, you dont always get monkeys---

Hope this helps

i now have the problem of, needing not to sum values in
the same column, but in the first adjacent row. ie.
fruit stock in europe stock in america total stock
Apples 1 2 3
apples 1 2
bananas 3 7 10
bananas 3 7
bananas 3 7

i have found a way of doing it but its very messy, and
ends up with #Values! in all the empty cells in the total
stock column.
