Summing occurrences of values

Assuming I have one column of data (<100 rows), what is the best way to
scan that column so as to get a list of the sum of duplicates (ie there
are 5 cells with a value of 2500, three cells with the value of 3547,
etc). I want to use a formula, array formula or udf.

Even a point in a general direction would be nice, as I have been
looking to no avail.
