Summing problem

Kalevi

Hi

I have have few columns which have several rows. Each column has been added
up using the Sigma tool (S). When I try to add up ( = A+B+C...) those sums I
end up with zero value no matter what I do?
Any ideas?
Thanks

You mean =A10+B10+C10 ? (or =SUM(A10:C10))

Just a guess ..

Perhaps calculation mode has "inadvertently" been set to "Manual" ?

Try pressing F9. Do the formulas now compute properly ?

---------
To change / check calc mode settings:
-------------------------------------
Click Tools > Options > Calculation tab
Check what's showing under "Calculation"
Click to set as desired > OK
(default / usual setting is "Automatic")

---

The calculation mode of each Excel session
is dictated by the calc mode of the first book opened
within the session.

For example, if the first book's calculation mode is "Manual",
then the mode for all subsequent books opened in the same
Excel session (i.e. until / unless Excel is exited) will
be "Manual", irregardless of their earlier saved modes.

Just a shot in the dark, have you checked the formatting
of the cells.
You may need to format the number to show the number of
decimal places.

Could it be that your numbers are VERY small, (less than zero) and your
final sum cell is formatted for NO decimal places?
