Do you have to provide proof you are a student or teacher to do that
though?

Not that I am aware of.

Not that I am aware of.

I think that Microsoft believes in a gentlemen's agreement between the
company and the end user, i.e. only those qualifying for the S&T edition
will end up buying it. It didn't use to be like this, though; I remember,
with earlier Windows versions, that you actually bought an empty box and you
had to provide Microsoft with some kind of proof that you are a student or
teacher before they would send you the discs.

There is also another deal that Microsoft posted where when you
purchase Office 2004 Student & Teacher Edition you get Office 2008
Student & Teacher Edition. If you go for the real suite deal you only
get 1 product key and can only install on 1 desktop and 1 laptop
providing they are not connected to same internet connection at the
same time, where as when you get Office 2008 Student & Teacher Edition
you get 3 Product Keys where you can install on 3 different desktop
computers running on the same network.

Another issue with the real suite deal is you get general users that
have the top of line software and most of the features you will never
use.

Student & Teacher Edition. If you go for the real suite deal you only
