A friend has been using SuperCalc4 for many years and has now changed to a
new PC and wants me to move his SC4 files across to run on XL

I shall have to do this for him on my PC (Office 2000) and Mac (my
preference) (Office 2001 and FM Pro 5)

I believe SuperCalc4 is a database prgm but it has been used in this case
for the simple entry of info which could equally be entered into an XL
spreadsheet

Is it possible to move the data from a SuperCalc4 file - typically
SALES04.CAL and PNOV3.CAL - to an XL sheet, either by SaveAs... the files
from SC4 to text files or moving the SC4 files into the new machine (or my
Mac) and converting/opening them from there

Any help in this matter will be much appreciated

Hi Francis,

When I searched this topic in Google Groups there were postings that
indicate that you can Save As Lotus 1-2-3 format from SuperCalc4.

Did you try that?

Thanks Jim - no I have not tried that but shall do when I can get at the
friend's PC - I'm not conversant with Lotus 1-2-3 but take it that XL will
open 1-2-3 files

I'm going to be away for a bit so it might have to wait, I doubt the friend
will have a clue

Anyway, thanks again - I will report much later

Francis
