Support embedded word/excel documents/links inside a note page

When inserting a WORD, EXCEL or other Microsoft product inside of the OneNote
page it should be an active link, so if double clicked it will give you
original application functionality. Why doesn't OneNote offer the basic
integration and functaionality as existing applications.,

Can you describe more specifically what it is that you are missing? With
2007, you can insert any kind of file onto the onenote page, open it from
there in the original app, make changes, and save it back to the copy saved
on the page. Are you using 2003? Even in 2003 you could sort of do this,
except that we just showed a file link rather than something that looked like
a file attachement. But even in 2003 you could open the file, edit it in the
original app, and save it.

I believe the OP is asking for OLE.

I believe the OP is asking for OLE.

Yes, seems to be about this unfortunately missing basic functionality
